The Wishlist

Hi everyone,

As most of you know, I am currently volunteering with Project Hope. Based in Nablus, in the West Bank, the organization is doing some very special work for some of the most underprivileged kids in Palestine. In fact, I just got back from my favourite French class. In Balata Camp, the girls are part of the biggest refugee camp in the West Bank. Opportunities for learning, whether in French or English, are hard to find. The girls that come to my class know that the only way out of Balata is by being the best student possible.

The staff at Project Hope has created a wishlist, a list of items we desperately need to teach -some cost $4 and others $15. They are very easy to purchase and everything is done through Amazon.

If you can, buy a book or a pencil case for the boys and girls, in Al-Askar, Balata or Al-Ein Camp. Otherwise, please help Project Hope and forward this message to people you think might be able to help.

From Nablus with love,

Tarik

PS: Stay tuned for a very cute youtube video of my girls practicing a conversation in French.

Dear Friends of Project Hope,

Project Hope is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides educational and recreational activities to children living under harsh conditions, offering a venue to express themselves positively, release frustration, develop skills, engage in dialogue and build hope for the future. Our regular classes include English, French and art. We offer language classes to children and also to university and adult students from beginner to advanced levels.

The Wish List
The volunteers at Project Hope work hard planning lessons to make the language and art courses here as beneficial as possible for their students. However, Project Hope has little in the way of resource books and reading books for the students. As a result of this, we have compiled a Wish List of books and games- both English and French, and a list of art supplies. These items will undoubtedly make both the teaching and learning and much fuller experience.

Below are the links to each of the wish lists. If you feel that you would like to donate an item to Project Hope, click on any of the links, browse through the items and add the books or games you would like to donate to your 'shopping cart'. (If you would like to buy something from more than one list, you can change between them by clicking on the links to the left of the 'Amazon' Wish List page.) The address for Project Hope will automatically become one of your shipping options. Should there be any problems, do not hesitate to contact us.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, and thank you in advance for your donations to such a wonderful project.
