Our time in Cairo is ending. Our time in Egypt is spent. Salah has already left. Abdu's flight departs for Lybia in a matter of hours. My bus to the Israeli crossing of Taaba takes off on Thursday evening. Already melancholic, we don't have time to reflect on our experience here.
Our time in Egypt has been exciting and fruitful. Our mission did not go exactly as planned but we have taken plenty of pride in what was accomplished in Cairo. Egyptians wrote about us on their front pages and on the nightly news. For a week, the world's eyes were squarely placed on Gaza and on the regimes that alleviate and support the siege on this war-torn nation.
Abdu, Salah and I want to thank the special family of friends that took care of us -nursing our injuries, feeding our stomachs and caring for us as if we were their children. Collectively we have traveled the world and we all agree that Egyptian generosity is next to none. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you enormously and we know that you will all be rewarded.
With love and significance,
Abdu, Salah and Tarik
